US Credit Card Volume Growth Cools Off In 2013, Due To Short Holidays And Debt Wariness Credit card payment volume growth was lukewarm in the U.S. during the fourth quarter of 2013.  Credit card volume — the value of purchases made with credit cards in aggregate — grew by 4.4% quarter-over-quarter to $634 billion.
